Stock Sight ("we", "us", "our") operates the Stock Sight web application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our platform.

By using Stock Sight, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information

• When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• We create a user account with this information and use it to authenticate your sessions.

Portfolio and watchlist data

• Stock selections you add to your portfolio and watchlists are stored securely in your account.
• This data is used solely to provide the portfolio tracking and analysis features of the platform.

Broker credentials (if connected)

• Zerodha: We store a temporary read-only connection established through your broker’s secure authorisation flow. This connection expires daily. We do not store your Zerodha password.
• Angel One: We store only the credentials needed to sync your holdings. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption and are used only for read-only sync.

Usage data

• We track feature usage counts (e.g., number of AI summaries used per day) for plan limit enforcement. This data is stored per user, per feature, per day or month.
• We collect anonymised usage metrics to enforce plan limits and keep the service reliable.

AI-generated content

• AI analysis results, summaries, and processed documents generated for your stocks are stored securely in your account to provide caching and history features.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide the service: Authenticate you, display your portfolio and watchlists, generate AI analysis, sync broker holdings, and enforce plan limits.
• Improve the product: Aggregate, anonymised usage patterns help us understand which features are most valuable and where to focus development.
• Communications: We may email you about account, billing, or security updates. We do not send promotional email without your consent.

Data Sharing

• We do not sell your data. Your portfolio, watchlists, and broker holdings are private to your account.
• Third-party services: We work with trusted AI service providers for analysis, our payments partner for subscriptions, and licensed market data and official exchange sources for listings, prices, and corporate announcements. Each operates under their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Security

• Authentication via secure Google sign-in (no passwords stored by us).
• Broker credentials encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.
• Encrypted connections between your browser and our servers in production.
• Secure login sessions using HTTP-only cookies scoped to our domain.

Data Retention

• Your account data, portfolio, and analysis history are retained as long as your account is active.
• Broker connections (Zerodha) expire daily and are not retained after expiry.
• Usage tracking data is retained for operational and historical purposes.
• You may request account deletion by contacting us at [email protected].

Cookies

• We use session cookies for authentication and security (login session and CSRF protection).
• We use localStorage for theme preference persistence.
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Your Rights

• Access your data through the platform (portfolio, watchlists, analysis history are visible in the UI).
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Disconnect broker integrations at any time from Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
